Since its establishment in 2000, Baidu Inc has become the largest Chinese website and Chinese search engine through sustained technological innovation, thus making China one of the four countries boasting the core technology of independent search engine with the United States, Russia and South Korea.

With market value of more than 65 billion yuan ($10.02 billion) and some 36,000 staff, Baidu is considered as a hi-tech enterprise of global influence. In 2013, It had total revenue of 31.94 billion yuan, realizing operating profit of 11.19 billion yuan, accounting for 75 percent of the domestic search market.
