SOCASAO hosts VR themed salon

A salon themed "VR, Now and in the Future" featuring virtual reality (VR) technology was held by Beijing’s State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) on Aug 25.

VR is a computer technology that simulates a 3D environment of the real world and enables users to interact with it. It allows people to experience the virtual world in a real time and unlimited manner. VR experts and enterprise representatives were invited to the event to help visitors directly experience the immersive feeling brought by the VR technology. 

Long Xiaowen, deputy executive director general of SOCASAO, said that this year was the start of an era of VR technology and Beijing has set a strategic goal of pushing forward culture and science technology and that VR will be widely applied to the cultural creative industry in Beijing, adding to the cultural prosperity of the city. 

Long also said that SOCASAO is poised to foster cultural creative industry development, create innovation service models, and establish cultural economic policy service platforms, noting that the event was aimed at offering support and service on policy interpretation, resource integration, and brand building for enterprises.

GuYonghong, assistant executive director general of SOCASAO, offered methods of utilizing the financial service platform of SOCASAO to solve businesses’ financial problems. Gu also encouraged companies to inspire creativity, develop technology, and seize developmental opportunity.

Han Zhengrui, head of the Beijing culture economy policy service platform, introduced the platform’s structure and content, and outlined relevant government support and policies for the VR industry.

In the enterprise presentation section, five VR companies promoted their products and shared their visions about development trends and industry prospects in the VR sector.
