A delegation led by Thomas Jakobsen, director of Culture and Leisure Administration of Copenhagen, and officials from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in China, visited the State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office of Beijing (SOCASAO) and the Beijing Cultural Creative Industry Exhibition Center on Sept 27.

Deputy Director General of SOCASAO, Dong Dianyi, extended a sincere welcome to the delegation, briefly introduced the office's responsibilities, the development of Beijing's cultural creative industries, and the policies and measures for the promotion of this sector of the city.

Thomas spoke highly of the development of the cultural creative industry in Beijing and expressed the desire to cooperate with Beijing in various areas of the cultural creative industry.

Thomas also expressed his hope that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cultural creative industry exchange and cooperation would be signed in December to enhance the friendship and strengthen cooperation between Beijing and Copenhagen.

Dong said that SOCASAO will actively consider the MOU proposed by the Copenhagen government, and work to negotiate and coordinate between the two cities to establish a cultural creative industry cooperation mechanism, and push the friendship of the two cities to a greater level.

The Copenhagen delegation was invited by the organizing committee of the annual Beijing International Design Week to discuss the application of the city to be the guest of honor for the 2018 event.
