A Chinese culture event Experiencing Beijing was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 24 to promote cultural exchanges between China and the country.
The majestic Imperial Palace, solemn Temple of Heaven, world-famous Summer Palace, mighty Great Wall, blue lake of Shichahai, exquisite Yonghegong Lama Temple, National Stadium, Water Cube, and Olympic Forest Park suddenly appeared in the exhibition hall of the Metropolitan Design Center in Buenos Aires. It was as if you were in Beijing on the other side of the ocean.
It was the first visit to Argentina for the Chinese culture event Experiencing Beijing. Through exhibition and communication activities, it focused on cultural and creative industries in China and Argentina and strengthened cooperation between the two countries.
In keeping with the exhibition’s theme, audiences used VR and AR technology to experience Beijing landmarks such as the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall, and Central Business District (CBD).
Guests appreciated the traditional Chinese crafts in the display areas, and designs that combined tradition and modernity, including those of music robots, 3D printing, and Chinese clothing.
Argentine viewers said that it was a great pleasure to see such beautiful and rich Chinese exhibitions and exquisite design products in the market. A woman said that she used the VR and AR technologies provided in the exhibition to see panoramic views of the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the CBD, and felt the long history of Beijing and its current status as an international metropolis. She wished to go to Beijing one day to experience the city herself.
Beijing International Design Week, the Buenos Aires International Design Festival, Beijing Cultural and Creative Industries Development Service Company and Centro Metropolitano de Diseño of Buenos Aires signed contracts at the event, and agreed to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation on design weeks.
Industrial exchange activities were held during the event, and representatives from the Beijing cultural and creative industry visited well-known enterprises and institutions in Buenos Aires to further strengthen and promote cooperation between the cultural and creative industries of the two cities.
