A Chinese cultural event Experiencing Beijing was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from April 23 to 26 to promote cultural exchanges between China and Argentina.

Latin America is an important partner for the extension of the 21st century maritime Silk Road, and the Belt and Road Initiative will bring more opportunities for China-Latin America relations, said Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China, at a conference on cooperation between China and Latin America this January.

This event provides a new platform for higher-level cooperation between the cultural and creative enterprises of China and Latin America under the Belt and Road framework. Those attending discussed development strategies for cultural and creative enterprises in China and Argentina.

The event was also a warm-up for the upcoming G20 summit in Buenos Aires from November 30 to December 1. China will hold cultural exchange activities in the city during the summit.

Beijing is making every effort to promote construction of an international communication center and a national cultural center. Beijing is using this opportunity to carry out friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with Latin American countries in the cultural and creative industry.

Forty-six media outlets in Argentina and China reported on the highlights of the event, cultural and creative industry development in Beijing, and the upcoming G20 summit.

Diego Ramiro Guelar, Argentinean ambassador to China, said that Experiencing Beijing activities helped people in China and Argentina learn more about each other.
