An exhibition called “Chinese Design·Culture·Life” was launched at the 10th Mexico City International Friendship Cultural Expo on May 17.

Beijing is taking part in the expo as a guest of honor. The exhibition and Beijing Cultural and Creative Week are the two major activities designed for the expo.

The activities will help promote traditional Chinese culture, introduce modern Chinese design ideas, and enhance cooperation between cultural enterprises from China and Mexico.

The exhibition is using the intangible cultural heritage“24 solar terms” to explain Chinese design and lifestyle, displaying about 100 design works including ceramics, furniture, and jewelry by modern Chinese designers.

Beijing Cultural and Creative Week activities will be held in Mexico until mid June. Institutions and enterprises from China and Mexico will be able to communicate with each other about cooperation on cultural projects.

The Mexico City International Friendship Cultural Expo was launched in 2009, hosting events such as culture displays, tourism promotions, and cultural performances.

This is the first time Beijing has joined the event as a guest of honor. The guest of honor activities will last from May 17 to the end of June.
