Beijing cultural exhibition held in Helsinki

A thematic exhibition entitled "Beijing – a harmonious and livable city of culture" opened in Helsinki, capital of Finland, on Sept 5. It aims to showcase Chinese culture and the development of Chinese cities through various exhibitions and enhance cooperation between Beijing and Helsinki in cultural and creative industries, as well as in design innovation.
Sponsored by the State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the exhibition is an important part of the Journey of Design, which in turn is part of Experiencing Beijing, an event focusing on Chinese culture.
According to organizers, the exhibition consists of five different spaces, allowing visitors to experience Beijing's new urban atmosphere and lifestyle.
The exhibition will showcase Beijing's development and city planning and invite 14 young Beijing designers to share their design concepts and new media, architecture, fashion, illustration, graphic design, visual design, digital design, and creative design works.

At the exhibition area for cultural and creative industries, many products with Chinese traditional cultural elements are on display, and the food and drink exhibition, themed around the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, is displaying moon cakes, tea, refreshments, tea sets, and other types of food, utensils, furniture, and musical instruments related to the Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese tea culture. It also showcases China's unique culture of solar terms and harmonious family culture.
Organizers will also take advantage of Helsinki Design Week to promote cooperation between Beijing and Helsinki in cultural preservation, innovation, and brand cultivation. Activities will be held to promote key cultural enterprises and projects, and to explore cooperation with cultural enterprises in Finland and other Scandinavian countries.
