Some designs borrowed elements from historical heritages to highlight Tang Dynasty (618-907) culture, a peak time for the ancient Silk Road, while others showcased modern influencesto explain classical Chinese aesthetics like ink and water paintings.

The shows were also broadcasted live on online streaming platforms.

Splendid China was first launched in 2017.

More than 30 fashion shows in this project have been held nationwide to explore creative ways of introducing traditional textiles into people's everyday lives.
