International cultural industry show to open in September

The 15th China Beijing International Cultural Industry Expo, or the ICIE, will go partly virtual when it's held in September, together with six sections of convention events and activities, local officials told a news conference held in Beijing on June 9.

According to officials, some activities and events of the 15th ICIE would be hosted in online forms.

They said that with help of the large digital platform of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), an online cloud ICIE platform, namely cloud ICIE, will be established. It will be utilized to carry out online investment promotions, provide matchmaking services for projects and create a long-lasting ICIE platform.

According to officials, in terms of the conventional offline proceedings, there will be three comprehensive activities.

There will be exhibition activities, including four major sections and 12 major exhibition areas, with a total area of about 35,000 square meters.

These will focus on the achievements of Beijing's development as a national cultural center, its growth as a leading zone of cultural industry development and its media integration development.

They will focus on the capital’s arts and crafts masterpieces, its cultural and sports integration, its cultural industry park development, cultural and creative product development, characteristic cultures of the countries involved in the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the cultural industry development in various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

Furthermore, there will be six promotions and trade fairs, seven forums and seminars, three creative activities and three parallel activities.

Officials added that preparations for the ICIE 2020 are currently progressing well.
