During the cultural season, four programs will be launched to promote the development of the digital economy, explore new types of cultural endeavors and provide new digital media services for cultural businesses. In addition, five week-long brand week activities will be held around five themes.

At the same time, cultural performance enterprises, radio and television, books, video and audio products -- as well as education and entertainment activities, cultural and creative products, cultural sports and cultural tourism -- will get subsidized support in the form of cultural coupons, to be handed out to people.

After an assessment, some activities with outstanding economic and social benefits can obtain further subsidy support.

In recent years, Beijing's cultural industry has continued to develop steadily, going from strength to strength.

In 2019, the total income from cultural industries above a designated size in Beijing reached 1.35 trillion yuan ($197.91 billion), with year-on-year growth of 14.4 percent. At the same time, their total assets hit 2.02 trillion yuan, up 5.6 percent on the previous year.

While vigorously promoting the development of its cultural industry, Beijing attached great importance to the promotion of cultural consumption, issuing some 26 related policies.
