Beijing is once again issuing e-vouchers this year to promote consumption in its cultural sector during Spring Festival.

The Beijing State-owned cultural assets administration center on Feb 10 started to issue the vouchers, which can be used for buying books, art performances, tourism, education and entertainment.

Residents in the capital city can get coupons through a WeChat public account and enjoy cash rebates when making payments.

During the holiday, a total of 189,000 people received 772,700 vouchers worth 20.77 million yuan ($3.21 million). A total of 82,000 citizens used 117,400 vouchers for cultural consumption.

The amount of verification and write-offs was 3.15 million yuan, which led to direct cultural consumption of 15.34 million yuan.
